Description :
The reaserches on the adult phase of Theileria Parva cultured on Lymphocyte medias show occurring of gaps in the cytoplasm of Theileria cell as a primary lesion when no change noticed on plasma membrane and nucleus membrane till the dacay reach a progressive stage.
There is no clear reaction of the host lymphocyte noticed, so that ensures the specialization of Buparvaquone mode act against this parasite, also explains the slight spectrum of Buparvaquone against a limited range of protozoa.
Indications:
This product is used for the treatment of theileriosis such as East,Coast fever, Corridor disease, Tropical theileriosis etc. in cows caused by Theileria parva (parva), T. parva (bovis), T. parva
(lawrencei), T. mutans, T. annulata and T. orientalis (sergenti).
It is active against both the schizont and piroplasm stages of Theileria and may be used in the incubation period of the disease, or when clinical signs are apparent.
Usage :
It is given by deep IM injection and it is recommended to be given into the muscles of the neck.
Doasge:
1 ml per 20 kg bodyweight single dose
Another dose may be administrated after 48- 72 hours of the initial injection and it is given in the opposite side of the neck.
Care should be taken to avoid injection through wet or dirty areas of skin.
No more than 10ml should be injected into a single site.
Precautions:
This product must not be given by intravenous or subcutaneous injection.
Withdrawal Period :
Meat :42 days Milk : 2 days
Side effects:
Localised, painless, oedematous swelling may occasionally be seen at the injection site.
Further Information:
In cases of severe theileriosis relapses may occur, requiring further treatment with Butaject Recovered animals will develop homologous immunity.
However, any subsequent infections with antigenically unrelated species or strains of Theileria may require further treatment with Butaject
Theileriosis has severe depressant effects on the immune system, therefore, it is recommended that any vaccinations be delayed until the animal has recovered.
