Composition :
Each injector of 10 g contains :
Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride 300 mg
Neomycin Sulphate 500 mg
Description :
Oxytetracycline belongs to the group of tetracyclines and acts bacteriostatic effects .
Neomycin is an Aminoglycoside antibiotic which has a strong bactericidal effects .
Oxytetracycline and Neomycin has a similar mode of act by which the two antibiotics inhibits the synthesis of the protein of microbial cell, so the combination of these two materials gives the medicine an activity against the most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Indications :
NEWMAST is indicated for treatment of mastitis caused by micro-organisms, susceptible to neomycin and oxytetracycline, in cows, ewes, mares, and she-camels.
Usage :
For intra-mammary treatment
Evacuate the udder completely.
Wash the udder and teats thoroughly with warm water containing suitable disinfectant, then infuse the content of the injector in the infected quarter or half, then massage the whole udder to allow the medicine to go through the milk ducts .
Dosage :
Cows, mares and she-camels : 1 injector in the infected quarter or half, twice daily, for 3 days .
Ewes: half injector in the infected half twice daily, for 3 days
Withdrawal period :
Meat: 7 days, Milk: 3 days.
Storage conditions :
Store in airtight containers, in a moderate temperature (15-25 C) and protect from direct sunlight.
