Sulphadimidine Sodium 300 mg
Description :
Sulphadimidine is a sulphonamide with antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria (like Staphelococcus, Streptococcus and pneuomococcus), and against some Gram-negative bacteria (like Pasteurella, E. coli, Salmonella) and against some Rickettsiae and protozoa.
Sulphadimidine is rapidly absorbed from the site of application and slowly excreted by the organism, so in most animals a single daily dose is sufficient.
Indications :
Pneumonia, foot rot, diptheria, actinobacillosis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, enteritis, polyarthritis, mastitis, dysentery, and septicemia in horses, cattle, sheep, dogs and cats.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to Sulphanomides .
- Animals with renal or liver failure .
Side effects :
Hypersensitivity reaction , hemorrhagic enteritis (in cattle), kidney damage, or crystalluria.
Precautions :
The prolonged treatment of sulfanomides may causes damage for the intestinal microflora .
Usage :
For intramuscular and intravenous injection
Dosage :
Horses: 7.5 ml per 100 kg body weight. I.V
Cattle, sheep, dogs and cats: 3 ml per 10 kg body weight. I.M. in the first day, followed by 1.5 ml per 10 kg body weight I.M. during 3-5 days.
Withdrawal Period :
Meat : 10 days Milk : 5 days .
Storage conditions :
Store in airtight containers, in a moderate temperature (15-25 C) and protect from direct sunlight .
