Description :
Tylosin, a macrolide antibiotic, is active against particularly gram-positive bacteria, some Spirochetes (including Leptospira), Actinomyces, Mycoplasmas, Haemophilus pertussis, and some gram-negative cocci.
Indications :
Infections caused by micro-organisms susceptible to Tylosin : (in Ruminants and Poultry )
Ruminants:
- Respiratory tract infections.
- Dysentery
- arthritis
- mastitis
- Shipping fever
- Pneumonia
- Foot rot
Poultry :
- CRD
- Coryza
- Sinusitis,
- Air sacculitis
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Tylosin .
Interactions:
Avoid administration with penicillines, cephalosporines, or quinolones
Usage :
Oral with drinking water .
Dosage :
Camels and cattle : 8 mg per 1 kg body weight for 2 days
Calves, sheep and goats : 5 mg per 1 kg body weight for 2 days
Poultry :100 g per 200 liter for 2 days
Withdrawal Period :
Ruminants : Meat : 10 days Milk : 4 days
Poultry : Meat : 3 days Eggs: 2 days
Storage conditions :
Store in airtight containers, in a moderate temperature (15-25 C) and protect from direct sunlight .
